The ‘World Wide Web’ is a system of interlinked hypertext documents called web pages that are accessed via the internet.
The internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that follow an established protocol in order to allow end-users to communicate with each other as well as gain access to web page content.
The World Wide Web facilitates access to and interactivity with web page content over the internet. For example, a ‘web browser’ allows you to see and interact with web pages. Within your ‘web browser’ hyperlinking (clickable links) allows you to go from one web page to another.
The governing body that establishes the international standards for the World Wide Web is the ‘W3C’ or ‘World Wide Web Consortium.’
