I read a Mashable.com article a couple of weeks ago about a new business tablet being released to the market at the end 2010/beginning of 2011 by Cisco Systems.
Even though I’m a Mac user for the most part, I was intrigued by the Android tablet’s specific focus on the business user and its “deep integration with Cisco telecommunication products.”
Running a modified version of the Google Android operating system, the Cisco Cius business tablet promises to “usher in a new era of productivity.”
Featuring a 7-inch screen and weighing only 1.15 pounds, this powerful little handheld device was designed with focus on six key areas:
Mobility
Secure Any time, Anywhere Access: 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi provides unrestricted roaming on-campus; 3G/4G data and Bluetooth 3.0 help employees stay connected off-campus
HD Video (720p)
Cisco TelePresence Interoperability: for lifelike, real-time video conferencing and streaming; video communication with the simplicity of a phone call; ability to join Cisco TelePresence, even when on the road, directly from your tablet; includes two cameras for teleconferencing
Virtualization
Desktop integration: power of Cisco’s collaboration architecture and cloud computing allow you to deliver your applications as a service
Collaboration
Access to complete portfolio of unified communications whether you are at your desk, on the road or working from home; such as Cisco Quad social software for virtual teaming; Cisco Show and Share for video creation and access; WebEx for virtual meetings, trainings and events; also Cisco Unified Presence, instant messaging, email, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager voice and video telephony features
Android OS
Open and extensible operating system: providing access to the Android Marketplace applications; partnering with Android developers to incorporate Cisco’s APIs into Android applications
User Experience
Intuitive, Contacts Driven User Experience: reach people you need quickly by selecting a contact and a collaboration option (see Collaboration above)

This sounds like it will be a great portable solution. The ability to use the Android OS on a larger scale then my Droid will be a plus. I look forward to getting one in my hands. Please keep us updated if you here any additional details.
